Becoming An RN Health Coach

Choosing a carer that requires diligent study and focus is never an easy decision. Your studies and direction may end up dictating your path through life, both on a professional level and a personal one. For many, the decision on a career path is based on financial considerations, and for others, it is based on enhancing their social standing. However, for some people, the career that they choose is based on something less tangible – passion. Nurses fall into this category. They work long hours on their feet, are exposed to enormous psychological stress, and the importance of the function they perform is sometimes not matched by the remuneration that they receive.

However, it is that dedication to the welfare of patients that keeps them focused on the job that they do. It makes very little difference whether they are helping to welcome a new life, comforting relatives, easing the path of those who are facing the last stages of terminal illness, or bringing comfort to patients who are recovering from surgery, nurses are willing to listen and provide comfort in even the most trying of circumstances.

Growing Discontent

However many of the three million RNs in the United States are becoming disillusioned with the practice of modern medicine and its almost exclusive focus on the treatment of symptoms. The fact of the matter is that a ‘whole body’ approach to wellness is seen by many nurses as offering a number of advantages over the modern approach to medical practice. Rather than being a quick intervention aimed at treating symptoms, this approach addresses needs such as lifestyle choices, including enhanced nutrition, movement optimization, mindfulness, sleep pattern issues, healthy relationships, and much more.

In order to become change agents who believe that the practice of modern medicine requires disruption, many RNs have chosen to take part in the Transformative Nurse Coach Certificate Program offered by The Nurse Coach Collective. This program transforms the RN into RN Health Coach that allows them to guide patients on the path toward health and healing by supplementing modern medicine’s symptomatic treatment with a focus on providing patients with the advice and tools they need to heal from the inside out – and empowering them to take control of their health, wellbeing and lifestyles.

Why Become an RN Health Coach?

The nurse Health Coaching qualification has been developed by nurses for nurses. The developers are well aware of the challenges of their chosen career path – and the disillusionment that many nurses are struggling to cope with due to the modern approach to health and its focus on the treatment of physical symptoms.

They are aware that many nurses are in search of a further learning opportunity that will provide them with increased levels of fulfillment based on more freedom, time, and that energy that drives their passion for what it means to be a nurse.

In addition, the Nurse Health coach will emerge from their studies with the credits to join the thousands of nurses who are the proud holders of a nationally accredited board certification. This certification differentiates them from the many thousands of ‘health advisors’ that possess no recognized accreditation or appropriate qualifications that would enable them to offer sound advice to their clients.

The Transformative Nurse Coach Certificate Program is a nationally recognized certification and will allow the nurse to receive a Board Certification in either Nurse Coaching or Holistic Nursing. The certification is issued by the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corp (AHNCC).

It offers nurses not only the path towards self-fulfillment, but also provides them with a distinct competitive advantage over the three million nurses currently practicing in the United States. In a highly competitive job market certification and supplemental skills (above and beyond the skills required to be an RN) are required in order to take that next step in professional development and become an RN Health Coach

Work and Learn

The seven-month Transformative Nurse Coach Certificate Program is delivered entirely via online training modules. It allows nurses to continue to work, while at the same time studying towards their certification. This flexibility is one of the reasons that the certification has been embraced by so many. However, you will not be taking the continued education journey alone. There is telephonic support from registered Nurse Health Coaches available, as well as a vibrant online community of over a thousand Nurse Coaches who are ready and willing to offer advice and emotional support during those months of study.

Even the busiest of nurses will be able to enhance their skillsets in order to empower patients to take control of their own health and wellbeing.

If you are ready to take the next step toward personal and professional growth then make that free call to the qualified Nurse Coach at The Nurse Coach Collective. They will be able to answer any questions that you might have.
