I love this theme and I just installed it, although I would love to have my “other pages” at the top rather than the bottom. I know I can customize the HTML but I don’t really understand how. Is there any way to change this?

Thank you,

2. allea:

Natasha, I’d love to also have the “other pages” at the top, as well as having it set up so people can comment on my pages. I have disqus set up, but I know nothing about code.

3. Seamuis:

I have been using this theme for some time now and I love it. my only wish is that I coud use a custom font or more preferable a custom header image in place of the text. can this be done, and if so could you point me in the direction of how to do this? sorry for bothering you, I would just like to use a particular font for my title.

September 10, 2010

4. Natasha:

Hi, Seamuis,

I’m working on an update that will include support for a custom header, but as for the font, you’ll have to change that yourself in the custom HTML.

5. Eneri:

I love your theme and am also curious as to how to change “other” pages up top instead. Thanks!

PS. Is it just the layout or Tumblr that doesn’t allow you to code html into the pages? I wanted to add a separate page for the people I’m following, but it doesn’t seem possible.

September 20, 2010

6. Natasha:

Hi, Eneri, I probably won’t include an option to change the pages to the top, so you’ll just need to move them manually by enabling custom HTML and copying line 682. Then just paste it wherever you want. Regarding your second question, I think that’s more a question for Tumblr, my theme doesn’t restrict the custom code of pages in any way.

I love this theme and have been using it for my blog. I am trying to create a Donate page and when I paste the HTML code into the pages editor, it does not show up. Is there something in the code that prevents this? If so, how do I get around this? Thank you!!

I really love this theme, But I am unsure how to download it.

9. sharifa:

may i also have the instructions on how to move the pages to the top? i love this beautiful theme and just wanted to make that small adjustment. thank you!

October 7, 2010

10. Natasha:

No, nothing in my theme code prevents that. You just have to turn on the plain text/HTML editor in your Tumblr preferences.

11. Natasha:

Kaitee, It’s the first link on the demo page.

12. mark:

Hi Natasha
I’m loving your theme!
I would also love to have my β€œother pages” at the top. Can you please also mail me the instructions.
Many thanks

This is a wonderful theme. Im using it at my name link for a collection of Albanian Short Stories and I am very pleased with how it looks and feels. Thanks very much; as a token of my gratitude I will buy the only tumbr theme you have for sale, since I didn’t see any donation button anywhere in your site.

Take care and all the best.

October 17, 2010

14. Natasha:

Hi, Tregime! I’m so glad to hear that you are loving the theme and your donation is very much appreciated! ^_^ Thank you!

This theme is so simple and chic! πŸ™‚
I was using it for quite some time but ended up changing it because I feel that the picture sizes appear too big. Is there some way I can customize the HTML to make it a bit smaller?

16. ryan:

This is my favorite Tumblr template by far! Is there a way to make it so people can comment on my pages. Let me know, thank you!

I absolutely adore this theme and have used it ever since I created a tumblr account so your work on this theme is much appreciated.

I was wondering if its possible to change the colour of the font and move the “ask a question, archive, rss & mobile” to the top?

21. Jason B:

Great Theme!!! How do i add social media icons to my site to link out as well as additional pages like a bio, when i create them in tumblr they don’t show up on the site.

November 2, 2010

22. Natasha:

For social media integration without knowledge of HTML, try checking out the social media widgets for Tumblr that are out there. And pages you add appear at the bottom of the theme. If they aren’t showing up, try contacting Tumblr support because something may be wrong with your blog.

i’ve seen someone with this theme and they have a picture of themselves underneath their title, was just wondering how you do it? πŸ™‚
thankyou <3

25. Rachel:

I really didn’t want to ask for help, but I am too in love with this theme to give up!

I know nothing about code and would very much enjoy having the option of notes/comments on my blog. I’ve created a Disqus account and added my shortname to the appearance portion of customization, but am mostly stuck from there. If you could email me with instructions I would appreciate it!

Thank you kindly.

26. ilene:

I love this theme and have had many compliments on it.

I would like to create a comments section and I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure it out.

Can you please help?

November 11, 2010

“Centennial” is easily the most elegant and most innately beautiful theme I’ve seen yet. I’m in awe. You’re eye is magnificent. Seriously.

I’m trying to protect your gorgeous clean lines, and I’d like to make a small tweak:

It looks like you have large images limited to a maximum size of 680 px. The result looks brilliant, but I’d also like to force the display of slightly smaller source images up to the same width of 680 px.

Alas, I’m inept with CSS, and I can’t seem to make this happen with my own futzing around. If I promise not to stretch any image to the point of noticeable degradation, can you help me find the magic coding to do this?

November 11, 2010

28. Natasha:

Hello! What a nice thing to say! I’ve sent some instructions to your e-mail.

November 11, 2010

29. Natasha:

Hi, Ilene, Tumblr comes with no support for comments, so we have to rely on third-party apps. Try looking into DISQUS: http://disqus.com/

November 11, 2010

30. LCR:

I love the theme and have been happily using it on my site. Similar to a lot of the other folks here, I was wondering if you could e-mail me the instructions to move the ‘other pages’ to the top of the page…thanks again for theme!

November 17, 2010

31. shannan:

hi natasha, thank you so much for the layout–perfect combination of classic yet contemporary.
i have a question about disqus. i’ve installed it and yet it doesn’t seem to appear on my site. any suggestions?

November 23, 2010

32. Rachael:

I hope i’m not being a fool to miss this, but how do you download this theme?

November 29, 2010

33. Natasha:

Rachael, just go here: http://www.tumblr.com/theme/10059

November 30, 2010

34. Jeanette:

I first want to say that I love this theme. I have 3 tumblr blogs and have used it for all of them. I do have one question and hope you can help me. For my photography blog, when I go to upload photos it limits me to 10 and they display in a slideshow. Additionally, the posts alternate between small and large framed slideshows. I am not very tech savvy but I would prefer if the photos would post normally and was wondering if you could tell me how to do this. If not, how can I get the slideshows to be the same size {although I rather option #1}? Thanks!!!

December 6, 2010

35. Natasha:

Hi, Jeanette,

That’s actually just Tumblr’s default display for a photo set (when you upload more than one photo). It’s actually in Flash and not “stylable” by theme makers like me. If you don’t want the flash interface, upload one photo per post and it’ll display like normal.

36. Lucy:

Hi Natasha,
Beautiful theme.
I noticed in a previous comment that you are working on an update that will include support for a custom header. Will you announce the update on this website? Or do you have a mailing list for centennial users…?
Best! Lucy

37. caleb:

hello. i think this theme is super.

i’m wondering where i find in the coding how to align text and images to the center?

December 9, 2010

38. grace:

Hi, thanks for the beautiful theme. I’ve been using it and I love it =)

December 10, 2010

39. sam:

I am so in love with how simple and classic this theme is! I don’t want to change mine but I was wondering if there is a way to show how many plays a song gets? I am not sure if I am tumblr illiterate or if that is something within the theme code itself?

thank you!
keep making beautiful work

40. dinoreads:

hi, thanks for creating a perfect theme.

i’m having trouble getting disqus to work. . . i’ve saved my shortname under the appearance menu, but it still isn’t working.

is this a common problem?

December 20, 2010

41. Natasha:

Thanks for the kind words! It’s not a common problem at all; try contacting the DISQUS site for help with DISQUS: http://docs.disqus.com/

December 20, 2010

42. Alex:

Hi, I have used Disqus in the past with other themes and had no problems. But same thing here, when I put in my shortname nothing happens. Are you sure this isn’t a problem on the theme’s end? I love Centennial and really don’t want to switch!

December 21, 2010

I sort of found this blog by mistake, but it caught my attention and I thought that I would post to let you know that I really like it. I enjoyed this post and will be bookmarking you.

44. Alexis:

Love this theme, was wondering what font is used?

January 6, 2011

45. Natasha:

Depending on the fonts on your computer, it could be either Goudy Old Style, Minion Pro, or Bell MT.

January 7, 2011

46. Tingi:

This theme is truly beautiful. Just wondering if there is a simple way to align the text and the photos as my photos always seem to be slightly indented. Thanks!

47. a person:

how do you make this your theme? i cant figure it out

January 15, 2011

48. christian:

Hi Natasha,
i’m trying to move the line with the page links in the footer just under the header, but i can’t find a way to do it !
Sorry but i’m not a coder, and it’s not easy for me :^).
Can you tell me which line(s) i have to copy (line 682 don’t seem to work with me) and WHERE (under which one) i have to paste it ?

Thanks in advance

January 16, 2011

49. Natasha:

Hi, Person, it’s the first link in the first post on this page: http://centennialtheme.tumblr.com/

50. Spliffy:

This is by far the best theme that i’ve seen on tumblr, the layout is perfect…
I’m wondering if you have any instructions so i can change the colour of the background and the text? I would love to have this theme with a black background.

Thank you

January 21, 2011

51. ann:

Actually, I think the disqus problem is common. I had disqus working fine on another theme, but as soon as I switched to this theme, it stopped working and no matter what I do, it won’t come back. I’ve tried everything, including editing html, contacting disqus, etc, etc, and it just won’t work with this theme. such a pity, it truly is beautiful.

January 23, 2011

52. Natasha:

Sorry, Spliffy, but this theme uses images for the ornaments, so I’d have to remake all the images for the theme if I let people change the background color.

January 23, 2011

53. Natasha:

Hi, Ann, I’ve tested Disqus with Centennial and it has worked fine with the theme before… that’s about as much as I can do. I don’t officially support those third party plugins for Tumblr, I’m just in charge of the skin. Sorry. πŸ™

January 23, 2011

54. leona:

I love your theme! it is simple yet beautiful and sophisticated.
But I am having problem adding disqus to the blog. Can’t seem to load.
would you be able to help?
Real sorry..

January 25, 2011

55. Natasha:

Sorry, but I can’t really help with third-party plugins. : /

January 26, 2011

56. Robyn:

Hi! Love your design, but I’m havign trouble getting the pictures to full width. On the demo, when I go to “Customize” it shows the sample image as the full width of the page, but when I upload my images, they are sized down automatically and appear indented in the post. The images are sized to 720px wide. What am I doing wrong?

January 29, 2011

57. Jenny:

this is the best tumblr theme I have ever downloaded, beautiful work. I’m okay with HTML, but I can’t seem to add a picture to my description. Is there a break code I’m missing that disables it? please let me know, thank you!

February 28, 2011

58. Justin:

Has there been an update as far as having a custom header? All I want is my profile picture up top!

March 18, 2011

59. Natasha:

Hi, Justin! No, there’s no update of the sort and there probably never will be. The theme wasn’t designed for use with profile pictures, but feel free to customize it as you see fit.

60. phoebe:

Hi, I just installed this theme and I’m trying to make a text post with two small photos placed side by side. But no matter how I tweak the CSS, something is preventing me from doing this… the second photo always appears on the next line no matter how small they are. I was wonderiing if you could tell me how I can fix this? Thanks in advance.

March 28, 2011

61. Natasha:

Hi, Phoebe, it’s nothing to tweak in the CSS, you’ll have to add custom stuff yourself. Start here: http://www.tizag.com/cssT/float.php

March 30, 2011

62. Mercii:

I LOVE this theme! So elegant. I’m trying to have my post appears on the same line as the title of my post.. can’t seem to figure out a way to do that. Please help. I’m computer-dense πŸ™ Thanks so much.

I use this theme and it’s great.

66. L'Aragosta:

The Centinnial theme is great and has just that classic feel I was looking for.

I was wondering how I could integrate a picture in the header. Any instructions?

Thank you & keep up the good work!

July 6, 2011

67. Natasha:

Thanks! You’ll need to know HTML in order to insert an image. You cannot upload a header via the Customize menu since the layout is optimized for a text-only header.

July 8, 2011

68. Natasha:

Thanks for the kind words, however, that’s a customization you’ll have to do on your own.

July 8, 2011

69. Natasha:

Hi, Jane, just install via the link here: http://www.tumblr.com/theme/10059

I love this theme, it’s so elegant πŸ™‚ Is there anyway to make the posts smaller or code the HTML to make the theme have two columns?

March 31, 2012

79. Emily:

I love this theme but just discovered that many (about half) of my previous posts have suddenly had the images replaced with a different color text link of the caption. When you click on this caption, it brings you to an error page. I emailed you some screen captures of what I’m seeing, and am really hoping you can help so I don’t have to scrap the site : (
